More about Lebanese

Lebanese cuisine includes an abundance of starches, vegetables, whole grain, fruits, fresh fish and seafood. It also includes copious amounts of garlic & olive oil, often seasoned by lemon juice. Olive oil, herbs, lemon and garlic are typical flavors found in the Lebanese food.

UAE Lebanese restaurants provide Lebanese cuisine, which use a lot of whole grain, starches, fruits, vegetables, fresh fish and sea food. UAE Lebanese restaurants use poultry rather than red meat in cuisine. Red meat is usually lamb. UAE Lebanese restaurants stand apart in their use of garlic, olive oil and lemon juice. Lebanese restaurants in UAE most often grill / bake and sauté food in olive oil.

Lebanese restaurants in UAE rarely serve drinks without food. A traditional restaurant provides meze which is range of small dishes placed before the guests creating range of colors, textures, flavors and aromas, basically for entertaining and cafes. Lebanese customary dessert includes baklava, which is throughout the world well known.

The Lebanese diet focuses on spices, herbs and fresh ingredients, and relying less on heavy sauces. Mint, oregano, parsley, garlic, allspice, nutmeg, and cinnamon are the common seasonings. Bread, a staple food in Lebanon, is catered with every meal, most often as a flat bread or pita.

Vegetables, fruit, rice, and bread outweigh the amount of meat eaten in the average Lebanese food. However, the most usually eaten meats, poultry & lamb, make up some of the country's most popular dishes. The national dish, kibbeh, consists of a ground lamb & cracked wheat paste and similar to paté. Kibbeh was normally made by harshly pounding the lamb & kneading in the spices and wheat.

Mezze, a kind of flavorful hot & cold dishes, is another important thing of the Lebanese diet.
